Lord Emperor revises Consul system

National news

The Empire of Pavlov is a social and cultural project which seeks to model the society, customs, and traditions of the medieval Slavic principalities and the Roman Empire in a contemporary framing. The standards of what is and isn't acceptable were drastically different in the era that Pavlov is modeled after, and many of today's societal concepts didn't exist at all. More in the Disclaimer.

Lord Emperor revises Consul system

26 July 7529 AM

His Imperial Majesty Alexander IV, Autocrat of Romans and of All Rus', Victor over the Moscovites, Pius Felix, Defender of the Faith, Turtle and Elephants, may the Almighty God bless his reign, signed a decree revising the system of the Consuls, the Heads of Government of the Empire of Pavlov.

According to the decree, the Statute is updated in regards to questions. Firstly the months in which one of the two Consuls has the active role has been codified. Secondly the Consuls are no longer appointed as per the Gregorian Calendar (considered heretical in Pavlov) but now per the Julian Calendar. With the new Consuls being selected every first day of August (14 August in the Gregorian calendar) starting their term on the first day of September, which also marks the start of the Julian year.

The former system in which the Consuls started every first day of January according to the Gregorian calendar was widely considered to be a paradox in the Pavlovian legislative comunity, as Pavlov rejects the Gregorian calendar as a Satanic temptation.

HIM Emperor Alexander IV, may the Almighty God bless his reign, was unable to comment on the passing of the act, instead HIH Grand Prince Jaroslav Alexandorvych was able to comment:

It is unthinkable that a Christian nation like Pavlov is still using the Papist abomination that is the Gregorian calendar, however limited its usage may be. The implementation of this “calendar” by schismatic “Pope” Gregory XIII was but yet another Popish attempt at drawing the flock of gullible minds away from Christ, and I’m happy that finally we are ditching this satanic temptation for good.
