Consul Duchess Helena Oleksandrovna Kirsanova, Duchess of Epirus informed the HIM the Emperor that she had tested positive for COVID-19, becoming the fourth Pavlovian official to contract coronavirus and eleventh Pavlovian subject overall.
With 11 confirmed cases of COVID-19, in a population of 78 (2021 census), the incidence of coronavirus in Pavlov is now 14.1%. Since Pavlovian subjects are not required to report their health status to Pavlov, the total number of citizens who tested positive may be higher than the number of confirmed cases. Pavlovian subjects who had or still have COVID-19 and who were not included in the official tally are encouraged, but not required, to report their case to the Government, which would help the government correctly evaluate the magnitude of the pandemic in Pavlov, and if needed, provide assistance.
Duchess Kirsanova became the fourth Pavlovian official to contract COVID-19, after Head of the Oprichnina Baron Saradzhev, Count Oliynik, and HIM Empress Marija, who all already recovered successfully, as well as the first Slovakian Pavlovian who tests positive: four cases were reported in the diaspora in Ukraine, and the remained in the diaspora in the Netherlands.
HIM Emperor Alexander IV sent the Consul his wishes of a quick recovery. Updates on her health will be posted as they become available.
